Telehealth Appointments

How do I document a telemedicine visit in Ezderm?

You can document your telehealth visit in Ezderm and bill the claim to insurance just like an in-person appointment. Ezderm does not include a built-in video conferencing tool. To conduct the virtual visit, you’ll need to use a third-party, HIPAA-compliant platform such as Zoom for Healthcare or Doxy.me.

Depending on payer submission guidelines, you may need to set up a separate clinic location for telehealth services with Place of Service code 02 (Telehealth Provided Other than in Patient's Home) or 10 (Telehealth Provided in Patient's Home) so that your telehealth appointments go out with the correct Place of Service.

Ezderm does not automatically add any telemedicine modifiers, such as 93, 95, GT, or GQ. Either the provider or biller will need to add appropriate telehealth modifiers after sign-off.

Be sure to follow state licensing laws and payer guidelines when providing telehealth services.
